 Unit 1.2. My Profession

In English, we talk about jobs and professions a lot! A job is what you do to earn money, like being a teacher, doctor, or firefighter. A profession is a type of job that often needs special training or skills, like being a lawyer or engineer.

When we talk about jobs, we often use the verb "to be." For example, "I am a teacher" or "She is a doctor." This helps us say what someone does for work.

Professions have no gender in English, so you can say "She is a lawyer" and "He is a lawyer".
